Hey guys. For those of you who don't know, I graduated from Ngee Ann in 2007. So this year I've just enlisted in NS. Been here for one month now, doing my BMT. This song is one of the songs that everyone in my company always sings. The part in brackets are optional. Can skip one. The part with the asterisk (*), is an alternative starting point for the song. That means can start there also.

So here it goes:

I ask my girl,
To take a walk.
To taaaake, a walk,
Down orchard road.

Bypass Mandarin,
To Centrepoint,
Where we had lunch,
At Macdonald's.

We had Fillet (sounds like feeling)
and an apple pie.
We shaaared, a cup,
Of lemon lime.

Holding her hand,
Look into her eyes,
I ask her to,
Be my Valentine.

(When I book in,
I felt lovesick.
I cooouuldn't eat,
I couldn't sleep.

Pick up the phone,
To call her home.
Her mama say,
She not at home.

I want to cry,
I want to die.
Afteeeer, some time,
I change my mind.

Say to myself,
Oh what the f**k.
When I book out,
I try my luck.

*I saw this girl,
She wore no bra.
Her tiiiiits, so big,
Can see from far.

I ask her out,
She say ok lah.
So we went to,
Hotel Shangri-La.)

During that night,
There was no light.
There waaaas, no light,
So we use torchlight.

Torchlight not bright.
So we use candlelight.
Candlelight not bright,
So we use purple light.

Purple light,
In the valley....

continues to purple light song

ok, it occurs to me that few might know the tune to this song. The solution is for the part D (or C) to organise a saturday training, so that I can come down to teach you all. Weekdays I'll be in Pulau Tekong, probably doing the now-daily 2.4 runs...

Ah, regarding the suitability of the words, that is the reason why there are a number of the verses in brackets. essentially, you can skip the part in the brackets. Should make it more suitable for school singing.

Regarding the Saturday thing, again it will have to depend on your Part D (or C) to arrange lah. I believe some of them have my number, so I will wait to be called down. Note that there may be times when I might not be free as well, so the earlier this is arranged with me, the better the chances of getting this to work.

Wei liang, the song actually it's possible to jump from 'to be my valentine' to 'there was one night there was no light' then blah blah blah, into purple light. that was how i sang it for my platoon to follow during my supernumerary course

LOL, again that's what I'm saying.

Notice that a number of the verses are in brackets.

(When I book in....

....Hotel Shangri-La)

I'm saying these are OPTIONAL verses. You can sing them, or you can cut them out.

What I didn't mention (because I didn't think it a big issue) is that the following verse:

During that night....

Can also start with

There was one night...

David, since you know this song, you can teach the rest!
